So tonight, the Vikings came to a 1 year deal with former Dolphins RB Lex Hilliard to add depth to the RB position being that Adrian Peterson might not be able to play for the first month or so and to add a solid blocking back in the absence of Jim Kleinsasser. I haven't gotten the finances yet and will update this blog when I do. Depending on the finances, this may not have been the worst deal.
In further free agency news, the Vikings sound like they want to re-sign WR Devin Aromashodu because of potential chemistry with Ponder. It's also stated that they're pondering (no pun intended) the idea of pursuing Ted Gin, JR, WR, 49ers. Not sure why, everyone remembers the colossal muffs he had last season. And thank goodness the Vikings aren't going to go after Alan Ball!! Much better choices for DB's available. Speaking of that, the rumors that O.J. Atogwe might be visiting might not be true. Now lets hope that the Vikings are the mystery team that he is going to be visiting. That would be a good boost to our Secondary! But that may just be a dream. And of course, resigning either Erin and maybe E.J. Henderson to the LB positions they held. Definitely Erin to the WLB position.
Then the business at the G position with Geoff Schwartz visiting and that the news today that Rex Hadnot is now available. One of the favorite people that Spielman drafted in 2004 while at Miami. Does that mean if the Vikings don't embrace the Power of the Schwartz they're go after Hadnot? This will be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm sure there will be a lot more to write about in the coming days, maybe even tonight!
